  1. Thank you for posting this site and helping charities reach out around the world. I’m the director of Hope 4 Women International and we have a program and website called Dress a girl around the world. People across the US make dresses out of pillowcases and we deliver them around the world through our organizations and others willing to carry them.
    Check us out.
    Thanks.
    Rachel

Hi, if you really love a challenge especially in embroidery, I’ve got something for you. We are making an embroidered Jane A. Stickle quilts, table runners etc etc. I made my own yahoo group but I don’t own the designs but I must make the quilt, one of our group made her embroidered quilt in 84 days and its now at the quilters. Please join us if you can, and look for me and my pics of embroidering and quilting on webshots just search for Dare2pt or Angelkruiser with a K.
I’m usually machine embroidering but I’m just finishing up this baby quilt, machine quilted it tonight – its almost done.
Have you ever seen my gold embroidered DJ blocks? Hope you can take a minute and take a look they are digitized to perfection. Please come join our emb group or take a look around.

I found out about your website from a quilting facebook group that I joined. I am currently participating in the Million Pillowcase challenge, which is North American-wide. I am interested in learning more about outreach projects that are Canadian-based. As an example, I have many beanie babies that I would like to donate to Canadian soldiers in Afghanistan to give to Afghani children, but I cannot afford to send them to the US, and I can’t find donation information on the Internet. Can you please help???

    Hi Terry,

Thank you for your inquiry. We applaud your desire to help others, and answering the call to Sew to Serve!

We found these two sites that can hopefully help you out:
Bev’s Charity Crafting Links – click on “Canada”
    Blankets for Canada Society

We also recommend you get in touch with a BERNINA Dealer near you to find out if they have other resources.

Thanks for checking out We All Sew – best of luck!

what an amazing website to find! I think your readers might also enjoy bags4darfur- an online fundraiser for IDP’s in the darfur region of Sudan. All the bags are sewn from discarded and recycled materials, and then sold to raise funds for food and education, housing, and advocacy.

This is a nice resource site for serving others. Thank you for helping us give back to those who need a little TLC.

My very favorite sewing effort is sewing quilts, fleece blankets, sand scarves and other appreciated items for:

    Soldiers Angels – Sewing Team

You can make a Blanket of Hope for a wounder warrior or a Blanket of Belief for a currently deployed soldier. (Some folks also sew baby blankets for the newborns of deployed soldiers.) The soldiers love their blankets and are profoundly encouraged and touched by the actions of sewing Angels.

  11. I am new to this site. It’s a GREAT link to many other charities. Is there one in operation already in Australia?

I’m heading to India again in October and plan to take quilts to the Mother Teresa orphanage in Delhi, in time for the approaching winter. Is anyone already doing this? If not, and you’d like to help just let me know.

  12. Tami says:

This is the best website I’ve ever been to. The charity listings are outstanding and easy to get to. The free stuff is really great. All in all I think I have found a new favorite web page!

Hi, I just wanted to thank you for spotlighting Firehouse Quilts in your recent newsletter under Sew to Serve. We really appreciate you helping to get the word out about our charity located in Highlands Ranch CO. We donate snuggle quilts to Colorado Fire Depts and the fire fighters give our quilts to children they see on their emergency runs.

I wanted to invite everyone to help support our mission of helping children in crisis by attending our fund-raising quilt show, July 16 (noon – 6p) & 17 (9am-4p), 2010. Admission is only $7 and it allows you to come to both days of the show. Location of the quilt show is Cherry Hills Community Church, 3900 Grace Blvd in Highlands Ranch CO. Much more info is on our website http://www.firehousequilts.org We hope to see a lot of you at the show!

Several of us came down to LaVeta a few years ago when you were taping some TQS shows and had a great time. It was wonderful to meet Alex and Ricky especially; they made our visit a lot of fun.

Thanks again for all you do!

  14. I am interested in making wheelchair totes and girls’ dresses, but I don’t know where I can send them. Do you know of organizations that want these items?
